The Fitness to Practise process is a University process, independent from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Ongoing support for students going through any University process, is available through the FMHS Student Support team and/or the University's Wellbeing, Skills and Diversity team.

The University of Buckingham has a responsibility to the public, to employers and to the profession to ensure that only those students who are fit to practise as doctors and healthcare professionals are allowed to complete the curriculum and enter the workforce. The purpose of Fitness to Practise procedures is to ensure the safety of the student and those around them, including members of the public, and to safeguard public confidence in the relevant health professions.
