Peri-Operative Care

The aim of this block is to enable you to make progress towards achieving the ‘Outcomes for Graduates’ defined by the General Medical Council in the context of experience in the care of patients before, during and after surgery (the peri-operative period).  The Perioperative Care Block is delivered jointly by the surgical and anaesthetic teams.  A key theme of the block is following the patient journey from admission to discharge and follow up.  In order to get the most out of the block you will need to be proactive and seek out learning opportunities.
